Paladins and Mists of Pandaria. We don’t know much yet, except that the talent trees are being completely redone. Scratch that, they got obliterated and rebuilt into a new structure that I’d hesitate to relate to any for of tree. That’s not to say I’m not a fan of the change, but I definitely want to see more of what they have in store for us.
Before I go any more in depth, I highly recommend checking out MMO Champion on the recent Mists of Pandaria information. There is a wealth of knowledge there, and it’s a good place to start. I am posting from my desk at work, so I will try to get the Paladin specific changes posted with insight soon, but it may take me a bit since I am at work both days Blizzcon is happening.
Retribution Paladin Talent Tree Changes
I am going to break down the changes in a more simpler form: Attacks/Abilities and Talent Tree bonuses. Each Paladin will still choose a spec at level 10. Retribution, Protection, and Holy. We will still be in the same basic roles. However, all attacks and abilities will be ‘given’ to us, throughout the leveling process.
For instance, Hammer of the Righteous will be available to Prot and Ret Paladins, just as Holy Shock could be a universal spell as well. There will no longer be any abilities or attacks within the talent trees, so you will not have to opt in to obtain them.
What Blizzard has done instead, is to generate tiers of Talents available at certain levels, where you must choose one of three very similar talents. These are designed to break away from ‘cookie cutter” builds, allowing players to choose more freely a talent that best suits their playstyle.

Questions I still have lingering:
1. Holy Power still seems to be in the game plan, so what is in the works to help reduce the complete random factor of our DPS?
2. With talent trees and specs becoming easier to swap in MoP, does Blizzard have any plans to make it easier on us to obtain armor for each spec? Paladins sometimes must carry three sets of gear, and keeping all those up to date is almost too tedious of a chore.
3. In the current talent tree builds, Ret appears as more of a support class than an all-out DPS class. Is this the intention?
Stay Tuned as I continue to update this post!
When do all expect the new expansion to be out?
Hmmm I’m guessing it’ll be at least March. (2012)
Looks like blizz is trying to balance pvp and keep classes unique through the new talent trees. The new selfless healer is great keeps paladin support alive but does not make their heals uninteruptable( WoG spamming from procs). Only problem I have with the talent tree is having to decide from a stun, cc , or snare( that proably will lower dps) we need atleast 2 of those to keep pressure and stop burst dps.
I wish they would bring back old palaidn play style lol,
Man I thought Ret was suppost to become an invincible class we have been so far behind since BC arenas, damn this game is just becoming worse and worse for terrible players who cant do arena so blizz has to make it easy for scrubs… way to make it fun blizz worry about your money more idiots.
fu Blizzard! I hope you all get fired!! 600 down!!! 5400 more to go!
haha love it
Wtf is this man, the level 90 talents make us choose between our wings doing anything, an overpowered zealotry and divine purpose which we already have. They took our main source of damage and just gave us the finger and made us choose because apparently were not nerfed enough yet. Thanks blizz. Atleast when mages steal my wingz I won’t notice it that much.
this is fucking gay i was looking forward to getting a ret set and playing ret all trhough mop and now it just ssounds so pointless in even playing wow at all…
blizz has fucked pallys all up and will continue to do so fuck blizz, fuck dks, fuck rogues, they dont want people to play ret so they fuck it all up make it weak as fuck in pvp with the best gear with no chance against other classes of the same lvl of gear. I have multiple 85s and only like playing a ret pally so since they fuck it up time to quit QQ QQ QQ QQ FUCK YOU BLIZZ FAGGOTS COME AT ME BROS or come eat me either way fucking homos
