Retribution Paladin Tier 11 and Tier 12 Gear
Retribution Paladin Tier Gear is current for Patch 4.2. Tier gear refers to class set gear earned through raiding and earning Valor points in World of Warcraft. Tier gear can be bought with tokens earned from defeating raid-level bosses, and some pieces can be bought with Valor points (current Tier), and Justice Points (previous Tier).
The current tier for Cataclysm is Tier 12 as of patch 4.2. The previous tier was Tier 11.
Tier 12 Retribution Paladin

T12 Set Bonus
- (2) Set: Your Crusader Strike deals 15% additional damage as Fire damage over 4 sec.
- (4) Set: Increases the duration of your Zealotry ability by 15 sec.
Tier 11 Retribution Paladin

T11 Set Bonus
- (2) Set: Increases the damage done by your Templar’s Verdict ability by 10%.
- (4) Set: Your Inquisition ability’s duration is calculated as if you had one additional Holy Power.
Using T11 and T12
- Until you can get the 2 T12 needed for the Crusader Strike bonus, it is currently optimal to keep your 4 T11 (heroic) intact.
- Using 2 T11 and 2 T12 is optimal for DPS at the moment due to the set bonuses, with 4 T12 taking priority at higher levels of gear.
Note: I am keeping track of this issue and plan to adjust as needed, so make sure and check back to keep current on optimal Tier 12 set-ups. Also, T12 2-piece bonus has been lackluster to some players, but it does seem to contribute DPS at a rate that isn’t quite as bad as they make it sound.

I have a quandary at the moment.
Neither the tier 11 nor the tier 12 tokens for the helm or pauldrons have dropped for me – we’re currently working exclusively on Firelands so won’t get the tier 11 tokens now. I had the tier 11 chest, gauntlets and legplates, and swapped the chest for the tier 12 for Valor Points thus retaining the two piece tier 11 set bonus – was hoping for either the tier 12 pauldrons or helm to drop thus giving me both 11 and 12 two piece bonus (Staghelm is on farm, Ragnoros not downed yet)
However, the other night, the Fireskin Gauntlets dropped from Rhyolith. I took them, of course, but now the dilemma. The obvious step is to upgrade to the tier 12 legplates – but I’m way short of valour points atm. What do I do in the meantime? Not eqip the Fireskins to preserve my tier 11 two piece bonus? Is this a dps loss or not?
